There is and never will be a shortage of hate & violence — independent of skin color!
In Northern Ireland, when I lived there, Protestants and Catholics who look & sound the same to foreigners, for many years were killing each other. Only Jewish people (the usual targets elsewhere) —who also looked & sounded the same as the locals— were relatively safe during the “troubles.” Crazy, huh?
Of course foreigners like me were also left alone by both sides. In fact, once when I inadvertently parked my Swiss licensed car in an unmarked but forbidden “no go” zone in Belfast, the combatants waited till I left to set off a bomb there.
Then when I lived in Paris and went to see the movie “Last Passion of Christ” some fundamentalist Christians (later convicted) set off a bomb to kill & maim a few hundred fellow Christians— patrons of this theater. Why?
Because they didn’t like the message of the movie. My girlfriend & I were still in line for a ticket when the bomb went off… We narrowly escaped injury. Ever since that time I have stayed away from crowds to watch movies only at home. I have other hints & tips about staying out of race wars, riots, rebellions and such. They are mostly common sense.
There seems to be no shortage of hate & violence independent of skin color!
So yes, it might not be called “racism” but some groups will always find reasons to attack other “different” groups.
Where do different groups live in peace and harmony? Malaysia and Singapore in Asia. I am in Singapore as I write this. In my life as a “perpetual traveler or fiscal nomad” I always look for, find & write about pleasant safe places like my current favorite, Campione D’Italia in Switzerland. It’s a town where legal residence is freely granted & one can earn a good living and avoiding all haters and troublemakers.
