If a client in a deal has changed their name, on deeds, contracts, etc. they should sign all contracts instructions and such…. As explained here:
“Ollie Oldname also known as (a/k/a/) Norbert NewName
“Name change certificate, deed poll or other document explaining name change attached. The new deed to me and the property I am buying should be in my new name Norbert Newname.”
If we are talking about a real estate agent who has changed names, usually due to marriage, making a big deal out of a name change is not by itself, going to bring in new business. If the old name carries with it good will, a good reputation, and a customer list that recognize the old name, I’d say, for professional purposes, keep the old name. If the old name is something you just don’t like (one of my ex wives was named something like Fifi “Katzenvlantzlieberschein” ) then just change all your stationery and business cards and start using the more simple and easy to remember Anglo name of your new husband, like “ Kate Cooper”… when you get divorced, you can still keep that new name.
